Q.
Why should I order my 0845 numbers from RoboTelecom?
A. RoboTelecom is
part of Virtual Effects Ltd,
an established internet services
company offering professional database development, web design, web hosting
and domain name registration. We provide full telephone and email support
from our offices in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. Please call 08456
444 123 to speak to a
member of our team.
Q. How much do other
companies charge
for 0845 numbers?
A. Most UK service
providers charge you by the minute for all incoming calls received on
0845 numbers. We do not charge you. When a caller calls your
0845 number, our carriers receive call revenue from BT for carrying the
national part of the call and we in turn receive a small percentage of this
revenue.
Q. Do you offer telephone support?
A. Yes, our staff
are available from 9am-5:30pm Monday to Friday on 0845 430 4123. Outside of
these hours, you can contact us by email. Emails are checked and
responded to 8am-11pm 7 days.
Q.
How long does it take before my 0845 number is operational?
A. Our 0845 numbers
are usually connected within 2 working hours. In some cases connection
can take up to 1 working day, depending on services required.
Q. How many calls can I
receive at the same time on my 0845 number?
The network we use for your inbound
telephony utilises the latest in Nokia switching technology with each DX220
switch being capable of
handling up to 8000 simultaneous calls per number. In the
unlikely event of major service disruption, calls are
automatically routed via another switch using SDH (Syncronised
Digital Hierarchy) to ensure that there is no disruption in
service.
Q. Are there call
statistics available?
A. Yes! We provide monthly statistics for all incoming calls free of
charge. These can be accessed by our Client Manager. Stats include the
following information:
Peak Calls - Answered, Total Minutes
OffPeak Calls - Answered, Total Minutes
Weekend Calls - Answered, Total Minutes
We update statistics on the
1st working day of every month for the previous month.
Q. I
don't know my landline number yet. Can I reserve my 0845 number?
A. If you wish to
reserve a number, please
contact us.
Q. Is there any minimum usage for my 0845 number.
A. No, there is no minimum usage.
Q.
How do I order?
A. Firstly, you
decide how many numbers you want. Then click the 0845 numbers button to
add numbers to your order. You then can then let us know the existing
UK fixed landline telephone line numbers
(starting 01 or 02) to which you want us to direct your new 0845
number(s) to, using the secure online order form. After your order is
completed, you will be automatically emailed your order confirmation. If you cannot
find the number you are looking for online, please call us on 08456 444
123.
Q.
I want to order but
I don't have a credit or debit card, do
you have any other payment options?
A. Yes, we accept
payment by cheque or BACS. Simply call our sales department to reserve the
required 0845 number(s) on 0845 430 4123.
Q. Which
Telephone Company carries the calls?
A. BT carry the local ends of the calls, our carriers carry the
national part of the call via their own exchanges to provide our 0845
service. They never use call compression, so the quality of the calls is
impeccable. Depending on the service required, we carry calls through:
Nexus Telecommunications, Kingston Communications, Totem Communications,
Gamma Telecom and BT Wholesale.
Q. What if I move or get a new phone
number?
A. If you move or
get a new phone number, you can simply change the landline number that your 0845 number(s)
point to online, using our Client manager. Number redirections usually take a
few working hours. If you
have special re-routing requirements please
contact us.
Q. What happens to my 0845 number if your company closes?
A. We act as a marketing company to promote the 0845 numbers routed
through national carrier exchanges. Once your number is connected,
it is connected for life. The ongoing service is provided by the carrier
who have their own exchanges. In the unlikely event one of the carriers close
down, another carrier would port/transfer all of their 0845 numbers and your
service would remain unaffected.
Q. What if I have more than one office?
A. We can supply
you with sequential numbers if you have a number of business lines and
faxes. You may also wish to have
different numbers for each office in your company. An added advantage
is that you can communicate between offices and pay reduced rates.
Q. Do my customer have to pay more when
they call me?
A. No, they always
are charged at standard 0845 rate from wherever they are dialling by whoever
provides their telephone services. Typical rates set by BT are
3.36p per minute daytimes, and 1.4ppm evenings and 1.0ppm weekends. This
is usually over half the cost of a national rate call.
Q. Do I need new telephone equipment to be
installed?
A. No, no
new equipment is required as your 0845 number will be
routed to your existing landline number at the exchange.
Q.
Does this affect my current telephone number?
A. No, your calls
are received as normal, the only difference being, the caller dials your
0845 number which is routed to your existing telephone line. An
0845 number will not stop you from receiving calls on your standard
telephone number. 0845 numbers do not affect outbound calls or line
services.
Q. When can I start to
publicise the number once I have placed my order?
A. We always recommend that you do not start to advertise your number
until it is fully connected and working. You can check that your 0845
number is operational by dialling it.
